As we look at all the 40 under 40 recognitions, we started to realize that the over 40 generation are getting no love from this process. It seems like once you hit 40 there is no recognition unless you add in lifetime achievement awards so we wanted to change that!
As a couple who run The Metro Buzz, we are both over 40 and wanted to do something special for the over 40 professionals.
This event will be partnered with a nonprofit too and the goal is to bring in $100,000 for the event! All major events we do will be charity focused too. The headliner charity will be The Andrew Marshall Dorff Memorial Fund benefiting the “Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt”
This will be starting in Spring / Summer 2023 and will become a yearly event. In 2024 we will also have Buzz Awards where we recognize the best of the best in different professions!
Here is what we are looking for:
- The nominee must go above and beyond in their chosen career.
- The nominee must go above and beyond outside their career. This is probably the most important. We want people who have made a positive impact on their communities!
- The nominee must be at least 40 years of age.

More criteria may be added later but for now we are just looking for outstanding people! We will recognize 20 men and 20 women through this process.
Once we have all the nominations, we will have a team of us narrow it down to 100 where then you the public will vote on the 40. The top 40 will be announced at the big event!
