1971 VW Bug with 468 Chevrolet Big Block
THE RIDE: 1971 VW Bug with 468 Chevrolet big block and powerglide transmission. The chassis is a custom made 2x3 tubing with Mustang II front and Ford 9" rear with 4 link setup. Double adjustable coil over shocks on all 4 corners. I run a 671 GMC blower set at 7 psi boost and it was tuned on a chassis making 840 hp to the tires. It will go more but that is plenty for the short wheelbase.
THE STORY: I got my first car in 1976 and it was a 400, 4 speed buccaneer red Trans Am. I have been hooked on performance cars ever since. I built several V8 Vegas in the 80's and 90's but eventually around 1998 I bought my first VW. I built several Bugs in the late 90's and early 2000's including a turbo charged 1952 splitwindow that I drag raced.
I never lost my love for V8 power so I decided to build a V8 Bug in 2012. I found an incomplete chassis and started building the Bug I had drawn up in my head. I have been working on and upgrading this thing for 10 years and still love playing with it.
